Our Impact

A simple focus with a big effect: keeping children healthy.

Access to affordable dental care is out of reach for far too many children. A happy, thriving life starts with taking care of a child’s basic needs, this includes living free of dental disease and tooth pain

Nathan

This is our awesome patient, Nathan. He became a patient at the San Gabriel Valley Foundation for Dental Health back in 2016, when his mother became a student of the Dental Assisting program at the Hacienda La Puente Adult School, which is where our clinic is located. After volunteering with us, she wanted him to get familiar with a dental office setting, and that is when we had the great pleasure of meeting her sweet son, Nathan. He was very nervous the first time we met him, which is not uncommon with many 3-year-olds at their first visit to the dentist, but he had his Spiderman with him to give him courage. Life gets in the way of many things, especially during a pandemic, so the next time we saw Nathan we noticed quite a few cavities that required treatment. It is not very common for children to get excited about starting a dental journey at such a young age, but that was not the case with Nathan! This little young man had the best attitude each day he walked into the office for his treatment! He was all smiles with his Spiderman who stayed right at his side the whole time!

Naomi

Naomi came to our clinic as a very timid four-year-old who wouldn’t even talk to our dentist when she walked through the door. She presented with decay on her molars and was in desperate need of treatment. With lots of TLC (and a lot of patience!), we were able to treat her decay successfully. Now, Naomi walks through our door with a big smile on her face and she’s always happy to see our dentist!

Isis

Isis came to our clinic with decay on her four anterior teeth—and she needed treatment right away.  Through a generous donation from America’s Toothfairy, we were able to use donated composite to perform the anterior fills for her as well as her after-treatment with fluoride varnish.
